Jake Powell returned from the War Between the States to find his sweetheart Sarah Tunstall he left behind had been brutally raped and murdered by some of Sherman’s Troops during the Union occupation of Atlanta. Jake also discovered Sarah had given him fraternal twins nine months after he left to join the war.
